Caroline Walker: Women's Work

£10.00

Women's Work is Caroline Walker’s most comprehensive exhibition to date. It examines the often unseen jobs performed by women, such as tailors and chambermaids and viewed from the side lines in their otherwise invisible worlds. The exhibition was presented at MAC in 2021.

The 52-page, colour illustrated exhibition catalogue includes a foreword by Deborah Kermode, MAC CEO & Artistic Director, with academic essays written by Tracey Warren, Professor of Sociology at the University of Nottingham, and Griselda Pollock, Professor of Social and Critical Histories of Art at the University of Leeds.

MAC worked with journalist Maria Margaronis to produce a series of personal interviews with some of the women featured in Caroline Walker's paintings. The interviews document the women's experiences and the journeys that have led them to roles they now undertake, and quotations from these interviews are also included in the catalogue.

This exhibition catalogue is exclusive to MAC.
